“Deadpool 3” Release Date Postponed
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Movie – “Deadpool 3” Release Date Postponed for 2024 due to the ongoing Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strike. The film is currently scheduled for July 26, 2024.
According to Deadline, Even if the actors’ strike is resolved in the near future, it appears that there won’t be enough time for “Deadpool 3” to meet its original May 2024 release date. The movie was only halfway through filming when the strike began, causing significant production delays.
The SAG-AFTRA strike, which commenced in July 2023, is an effort by actors to secure better wages and ensure protection against the encroachment of artificial intelligence in their industry. This strike has also highlighted broader concerns regarding labor rights and representation.
Negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to resolve the strike have hit a roadblock due to disagreements over various issues. SAG-AFTRA has accused AMPTP of employing “bully tactics,” further complicating the situation.
Directed by Shawn Levy, known for his work on “Free Guy,” “Deadpool 3” is eagerly awaited by fans. The film features Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the irreverent Merc With a Mouth. Additionally, it boasts an ensemble cast including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. The film also welcomes Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have secured undisclosed roles, with Taylor Swift rumored to be playing Dazzler in the movie.
