Logitech G and Tencent Games signed a partnership to bring a new Handheld Cloud-based Portable Gaming console to market later this year by combining Logitech G’s hardware expertise and Tencent Games’ experience in software services.
The handheld gaming device will support multiple cloud gaming services which are compatible with NVIDIA GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Both companies are currently working with teams from Xbox Cloud Gaming (Microsoft) and NVIDIA GeForce Now (NVIDIA). Thus, players will be able to play AAA games while away from their consoles or computers. As you know, cloud-based game services use data center servers so that we can play games. The games presented to us run on advanced servers and we do not need powerful hardware also we don’t need to download or install games.
Unfortunately, no release date, pricing, or technical details were mentioned. There is a dedicated website where we can sign up so that we can receive updates on the new cloud-based handheld gaming device. Logitech has stated that it will share more information here soon.
Information about this mysterious portable console came months after Steam Deck was released. In fact, Steam Deck offers support for cloud gaming services like Stadia and Xbox Cloud Gaming. However, some people may want products that offer longer battery life and are more affordable. Logitech and Tencent seem to be implementing exactly this project.
