Xiaomi CyberOne Robot
Chinese Tech Giant Xiaomi has just unveiled its first full-sized Humanoid Robot “CyberOne” which has the ability to detect human emotion, advanced vision capabilities, and functionality allowing it to create three-dimensional virtual reconstructions of the real world, alongside a host of other advanced technologies. CyberOne is the second robot from Xiaomi. The company launched its bio-inspired quadruped robot, called CyberDog, in August 2021
According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, CyberOne is fitted with advanced arms and legs, supports bipedal-motion posture balancing, and reaches peak torque of up to 300Nm it measures about 177 cm, weighs 52 kg, has a wingspan of 168 cm, and can lift up to 1.5 kg with a single arm. It has been nicknamed “Metal bro” and somehow it also has been given a zodiac sign Leo, The robot’s face is made of a curved OLED panel and it can see the world in 3D and for hearing, it has two microphones.
When compared to other quadruped robots, CyberOne is “mechanically more complex”, as it has more powerful motors, more degrees of freedom, and complex humanoid biped control algorithms. CyberOne supports up to 21 degrees of freedom in motion and achieves a real-time response speed of 0.5ms for each degree of freedom, which allows it to fully simulate human movements.
It is equipped with Xiaomi’s self-developed whole-body control algorithm, which can coordinate the movement of 21 joints. Further, the humanoid robot can interpret 45 human semantic emotions and distinguish 85 environmental semantics. The robot is claimed to learn new skills each day.
However, this CyberOne robot is just a first-gen product and most of its aspects are still in the development stage it is expected that in nearby future this robot will definitely beat Tesla’s humanoid prototype.
According to Lei Jun, Founder, President & CEO of Xiaomi. Group;
“With AI at its core and a full-size humanoid structure as its vessel, this is an exploration of the possibilities of Xiaomi’s future technology ecosystem and a new breakthrough for the company,”
At present, the Xiaomi CyberOne robot is a prototype and isn’t available to everyone, Lei Jun revealed that each CyberOne robot unit will cost somewhere in the price range of about 600,000 to 700,000 Yuan (about ~ $89,100 to $104,000).
